Creative writing education for the people traditional workshops leave behind.

No judgment. No sharing. Just practice.

Write It First supports non-profits, schools, and care organizations seeking creative programming that actually works for neurodivergent, anxious, and disengaged learners.

Creative writing isn’t just a valuable life skill; it’s also a therapeutic tool for self-expression. Through a proven generative model taught by a uniquely qualified educator, participants write for themselves, never share publicly, and build confidence without the barriers of traditional feedback-based sessions.

Meet the Founder

Erin Biberdorf is a mental health nurse turned MFA-qualified writer who lives with autism, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. She built Write It First because she couldn’t participate in the classes she was trained to teach. Her programs use a no-feedback, no-sharing model that gets results with learners other approaches can’t reach.

You kept each class light-hearted, low-pressure, and engaging—every part of New Shoots was fantastic! Thank you so much for the opportunity; we are all incredibly grateful for the chance to take your lessons and grow.”
